In a major move towards digital transformation, the Pakistan Airports Authority (formerly the Civil Aviation Authority) announced plans to eliminate the use of paper.
The decision aligned with the government’s broader initiative to streamline operations through technology.
Under the new plan, all the tasks within the Authority would be conducted through an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which is expected to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
According to the sources, the Director General of the Pakistan Airports Authority directed the IT department to expedite the activation of the ERP system, which is set to be implemented soon.
The decision follows directives from Prime Minister to modernize the said authority by transitioning to a fully paperless system. It will be a key step in Pakistan’s digitalization efforts.
The ERP system will allow for more transparent and efficient management of operations across the country’s airports.
The further details about the timeliness and scope of the ERP system are likely to be released during the next few weeks.
