Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed was called up by Pakistan on Wednesday for the second and final Test match against Bangladesh after their attempt to play an all-out attack on a slow track proved disastrous in the first match of the series last week in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan lost their first-ever Test match against Bangladesh on Sunday despite fielding an attack devoid of any front-line spinners.
Their spinners, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan, combined for seven wickets to bowl Bangladesh to an innings-long victory, although their pacers struggled miserably on a sluggish ground.
Along with uncapped spin bowling all-rounder Kamran Ghulam, Abrar, who has 38 wickets in six Test matches, has been named to the squad.
The PCB added in a statement that all-round player Aamer Jamal had also been summoned back, although his participation was contingent on receiving a fitness clearance.
The last Test will start in Rawalpindi on Friday.
