Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Wednesday that due to ongoing renovations, spectators are not permitted at Karachi’s National Stadium during Pakistan’s second Test match against Bangladesh.
“Our players receive motivation and support from our passionate followers, and we recognize the significant role they play in the game of cricket. But having carefully considered all of the possibilities, we have determined that keeping the match spectator-free is the safest course of action, according to the PCB’s statement.
The two countries’ second Test match is scheduled to take place in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
The board has decided to proceed with the upgrade of the venue in anticipation of the Champions Trophy in 2025.
This decision has resulted in an immediate suspension of ticket sales for the match. The complete refund for those who have already bought tickets will be handled automatically and credited back to their accounts.
The Champions Trophy will be hosted by the PCB in 2025, marking the first International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament to be staged in Pakistan since 1996. The PCB pledged to make sure the stadium is ready for this historic occasion.
The current renovations are a part of a larger initiative to enhance the stadium’s amenities and increase crowd appeal.
It should be mentioned that the first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan will be held at Rawalpindi from August 21 to August 25.
