Forbes reported on Monday that Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, the company that makes ChatGPT, had become a billionaire.
After an AI chatbot became available to the general public in late 2022, Sam Altman gained notoriety. On the list, he is reportedly ranked 2,692nd.
According to the news source, Reddit, a startup that went public on the New York stock exchange, and Stripe, a $65 billion payments firm, are only two examples of the startups in which the 38-year-old CEO, supported by Microsoft, gained his money.
Aside from OpenAI, the CEO invested in other businesses, including longevity firm Retro Biosciences and nuclear energy company Helion.
According to Forbes, official documents and investigative research estimated his riches to include valuable real estate in California and Hawaii.
Ever since ChatGPT gained popularity, it has intimidated the supremacy of other major tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and Meta.
Altman claims that he is not a shareholder in the $80 billion Microsoft-backed OpenAI.
