The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification highlighting a substantial reduction in the price LPG, offering relief to households across the country.
LPG Reduction per Kilogram
The LPG prices will witness a notable decrease of 80 paisas per kilogram. This reduction is a significant adjustment that aims to ease the financial burden on consumers, particularly those relying on LPG for various domestic purposes.
The positive news extends to consumers using domestic LPG cylinders. OGRA has reduced the price of a domestic LPG cylinder by Rs9.51 per kilogram. As a result, the new price for the domestic cylinder is set at Rs3,030, providing substantial savings for households.
This reduction in prices is anticipated to have a positive impact on household budgets. Amid ongoing economic challenges, the decrease in LPG costs comes as a welcome relief, especially for families relying solely on it for cooking and heating purposes. The adjustment aligns with efforts to mitigate the impact of rising living costs.
While the LPG market sees a favorable adjustment, the government has, conversely, implemented an increase in the price of petrol. This decision, effective from 12 midnight until March 15, reflects the broader economic dynamics and their direct impact on daily expenses.
Key Details of the Petrol Price Increase
The price of petrol has been raised by Rs4.13 per litre, reaching a new rate of Rs279.75 per litre. This adjustment is part of the regular review of petroleum product prices. The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) remains unchanged, maintaining its rate at Rs287.33 per litre.
These contrasting developments in LPG and petrol prices shed light on the dynamic nature of economic challenges. While consumers may find relief with reduced costs, the increase in petrol prices underscores the intricate economic landscape and its direct impact on the daily lives and expenses of the population.
