Nooh Dastgir Butt sets new powerlifting records
In the National Powerlifting Championship held in Lahore, Nooh broke his own national records by lifting 330 kg in squat and 208 kg in bench press.
Nooh suggests that it is not difficult for the local athletes to secure a medal in the esteemed Olympics championships if these athletes are provided with adequate training facilities.
Nooh also emphasized that the government should monitor the reason why he was deprived of participation in the Olympics. “I was neither given campuses nor sent aboard for training, so I do not regret not participating in the Paris Olympics,” Nooh reportedly said.
If ample resources and adequate training is provided, “it is not difficult to get a medal in the Olympics,” Nooh suggested.
Taking to Instagram to share his remarkable achievement and express immense gratitude, Nooh shared a set of pictures and wrote, “By Allah’s grace, I successfully defended my title three times in a row,” and added that he “secured first position at the recent Mens Classic National Powerlifting Championships (2024).”
Bagging “three new national records,” Nooh added the categories and the weight he lifted.
- Squats (330 Kg) NR
- Bench Press (208 Kg) NR
- Deadlift (300 Kg)
- Total (838 Kg) NR
