Pakistani weightlifter, Nooh Dastagir Butt, won four gold medals in the classic and equipped categories in his debut powerlifting competition at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship.
This was Butt’s first powerlifting event after switching from weightlifting due to conflicts with the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWLF).
Butt competed in the 120+ kg equipped category and secured victories winning all four gold medals.
Earlier Butt won a gold medal during Commonwealth Championship by lifting an impressive 340kg.
After this Butt won another gold medal in the bench press by lifting 210kg.
Butt further demonstrated his power by lifting 300kg, earning yet another gold medal. With a total lift of 850kg, Butt took home the overall equipped title at the Commonwealth Championship.
Earlier Butt took part in the classic category. He made his mark, winning three gold medals and one bronze, solidifying his position as one of the competition’s top performers.
Butt has won a total of seven gold medals and one bronze at the end of these competitions.
