Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan said that all those who left the party during tough times have no place back in the party.
“ I know who left during difficult times. There are very few who were forced to leave the party during difficult times. Those who were present full-time during good times but left during tough times have no place with us,” said Imran Khan while talking to the reporters at Adiala Jail on Friday.
Imran Khan said that he doesn’t name anyone, but those who simply left the party would not be taken back. Those who stood by during difficult times should rest assured.
“ There will be a better decision for all those who went underground, endured hardships, and faced violence during tough times,” said Imran Khan.
Khan stated that political parties can unite the people, not the army. If the army could do so, East Pakistan would not have broken away.
He said that the PTI is the only party that can unite the people.
The former prime minister said that the biggest challenge facing the country is the economy.
Previously, it was heard that the lowest investment in 50 years had come into the country, but now it has come to light that this year has seen the lowest investment in the country’s history. There is no national income, debts are increasing, and the country is heading towards destruction. The main reasons for this are political instability and the rise of terrorism.
He further added that due to fraudulent elections, they all are suffering from political instability. On the other hand, terrorism is on the rise.
“Previously, we were being blamed for terrorism due to our settlement plan; now, they are saying that terrorism is coming from across the border. Who will invest in a country where there is terrorism by TTP, terrorism in Katcha areas, terrorism in Balochistan, and increasing crime? Meanwhile, intelligence agencies have been tasked with eliminating PTI,” said Khan.
Imran Khan stated that there is a great danger of provincialism in the country. Protests were organized in Punjab against Balochistan’s terrorism. The only federal party in the country is PTI; the rest are regional parties. He also mentioned the reasons behind the survival of the PML-N and PPP.
PTI, he said, is the only party that exists in all four provinces, and we can unite the people.
The PTI founder said that the only federal party in the country is being weakened. Those making these decisions don’t care about the country. Considering the current situation in Balochistan, our effort should be to carry the Baloch people along.
He mentioned that party workers are angry over the postponement of the Islamabad rally. They are criticizing the leadership, and the infighting within the party hasn’t stopped. Other parties are holding rallies, but we are not being allowed to hold even one. We postponed our rally due to the protests by religious parties and the cricket match, thinking that we didn’t want to create further unrest in the country.
The PTI founder said that “a fair trial is my right, and here, the concept of a fair trial is being trampled upon. As the situation worsens, the hardships increase. I am not allowed to meet party leaders and lawyers. It’s the third week now, and I haven’t even been allowed to talk to my children on the phone,”.
Deputy Superintendent Prevents Journalists from Asking Questions
During the media talk, the Deputy Superintendent of the jail stopped media representatives from asking Imran Khan questions. When Imran Khan intervened, the Deputy Superintendent replied that there is a court order prohibiting him from holding press conferences or media talks.
