During a rare gathering on ‘Shan e Suhoor,’ morning show veterans Nadia Khan, Shaista Lodhi, and Nida Yasir reminisced about their experiences in the industry, sharing both the highs and lows of their careers.
While reflecting on their past experiences, Nadia Khan revealed a distressing incident she faced during her time hosting live television. She recounted receiving a chilling call from a distressed individual, who threatened harm to her child if she refused to meet them in person. The gravity of the situation left Nadia shaken, highlighting the unpredictable nature of live broadcasts.
“It was a bizarre call. Women struggling with depression would often reach out. (The caller) expressed a desire to meet me, claiming to be severely depressed and threatening harm to her child if I declined,” Nadia recalled, prompting shocked reactions from her fellow hosts.
The conversation also delved into backstage drama involving celebrities, with Nida Yasir sharing surprising anecdotes about actors’ personal lives and Nadia Khan recalling tense moments involving infidelity accusations.
Shaista Lodhi, accustomed to handling on-set challenges, discussed managing difficult celebrity guests, including those who arrive in no condition to appear on live television.
She explained that she has to manage situations like late-night parties and make sure the guests look good the next morning. She said, “Sometimes, guests are in such bad shape in the morning that they can’t go on TV.”
She also added, “Sometimes you have a show to put on but you don’t have a guest.”
