The women artists have dominated the State Bank of Pakistan’s recent currency note design competition, securing top positions in several categories.
According to the official results, the top five banknotes, which include denominations of 10, 100, 500, 1000, and 5000 rupees, were all designed by women.
Overall, six out of the ten successful designs were created by female participants.
The competition witnessed active participation from both men and women, with male artists designing the banknotes for 20 and 50 rupees.
NEW CURRENCY NOTES
The second-place design for the 500-rupee note was also crafted by a female artist while the runners-up for the 10 and 5000-rupee notes were male artists.
The winning designs were selected after a thorough evaluation by a panel of experts.
The selection process emphasized the inclusion of Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and progressive values.
NEW SERIES OF CURRENCY NOTES
Although the winning designs are symbolic, they will serve as a source of inspiration for international experts who will finalize the new series of State Bank notes.
While the experts will refer to the selected designs for guidance, they will retain full creative freedom in producing the final banknote designs.
