12 Provincial Assembly (MPA) members are shortlisted for the Punjab cabinet expansion, according to media reports.
According to media reports, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has given his approval for the selected names. He ensured the Punjab cabinet expansion would be a blend of experienced and emerging lawmakers.
As per reports the list includes the names of Begum Zakia Shahnawaz, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, and Manshaullah Butt. Additionally, Colonel (Retd) Ayub Gadhi, Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar, Salman Naeem and Rana Tahir Iqbal have also been considered for ministerial roles. Other individuals included in the selection are Ahmed, Malik Asad Ali Khokhar, Rana Muhammad Arshad, Mian Imran Javed and Osama Khan Leghari.
Moreover, Shoaib Siddiqui from the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has also made it to the shortlist.
Insiders indicate that the newly appointed cabinet members are likely to take the oath later this week, marking the long-awaited expansion of the Punjab cabinet.
In a separate update, Cabinet meeting of the Federal government, an important one, to be headed by the Prime Minister is set for Islamabad today.
One year of government will be celebrated formally with a unique event.
The chief guest will be Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and a review of the cabinet’s activity for the last year will be given.
Sources say the crucial meeting scheduled for Tuesday will center on evaluating the year’s performance of the administration.
