Nawaz promises ‘10m jobs, cheap electricity’ as PML-N unveils manifesto

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif launched the party’s ‘much-awaited’ manifesto on Saturday.

The three-time premier reiterated the party’s commitment to “fully implement it” if voted to power in elections.

The party launched the election manifesto at a ceremony held in the party secretariat in Model Town.

Sharing salient features of the manifesto, Nawaz Sharif termed the economy the most important aspect of PML-N’s manifesto.

Calling for mistakes to be known, he recalled the way he was ousted from government was painful.

The PML-N supremo expressed the hope the people would read the party’s manifesto.

Nawaz promised if voted into power for the fourth time, the PML-N government would reduce power bills by 20 to 30 percent. “We provide “cheap and increased electricity” and increased development in the country.”

 ‘Key points of manifesto’

The manifesto lays strong emphasis on promotion of agricultural sector and addressing climate change impacts.

It renews commitment to elevate the status of farmers through agricultural innovation. The party envisions a comprehensive approach to tackle environmental challenges.

The PML-N manifesto also highlights plans for constitutional, legal, judicial, and administrative reforms.

Notably, it includes the restoration of Article 62/63 to its original state. Additionally, the manifesto signals the abolition of the NAB.

The PML-N promises a substantial reduction in electricity bills, ranging from 20 to 30 percent.

Furthermore, the party aims to create 10 million jobs to foster economic growth.

The manifesto showcases a strategic vision for the country’s future.

The manifesto promised to send a “message of peace” to other countries including India that it reverses the August 2019 action in occupied Kashmir.

For overseas Pakistanis, the party manifesto says they will “rebuild Pakistan together.”

The party also promised reforms in the education sector.
