Pakistan will observe a nationwide public holiday tomorrow (Wednesday) in commemoration of Kashmir Solidarity Day, as per an official announcement by the federal government.
A formal notification released by the Cabinet Division confirmed the closure of public and private institutions, including offices and educational establishments, in recognition of the occasion.
Kashmir Solidarity Day, held annually on February 5, reaffirms Pakistan’s steadfast support for the people of Indian-administered Kashmir in their quest for self-determination. The observance includes various activities such as rallies, discussions, and symbolic demonstrations to shed light on the challenges faced by Kashmiris and to denounce rights violations in the region.
Special prayers and gatherings will take place across the country to pay tribute to the resilience of the Kashmiri people. Political figures, civil society representatives, and citizens are expected to participate in solidarity events aimed at emphasizing Pakistan’s continued advocacy for Kashmir’s cause.
The occasion also underscores the protracted Kashmir dispute, urging the global community to play its role in seeking a resolution in line with United Nations resolutions.
