Pakistan is commemorating its 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of national pride.
The country witnessed vibrant celebrations starting at midnight, with streets filled with people marking August 14 with dazzling fireworks.
On Pakistan’s 77th independence day, cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar, the night sky was lit up with stunning displays of fireworks, symbolizing the unity and joy of the nation.
Buildings across the country, both public and private, including offices and homes, were decorated with colorful lights and the green crescent flag, embodying Pakistan’s identity and dreams.
Karachi’s coastline drew large crowds, while Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan in Greater Iqbal Park became a hub of activity, hosting a musical event that added to the day’s festive atmosphere.
Cultural and historical sites around the nation served as focal points for the celebration of Pakistan’s 77th independence day.
In Abbottabad, the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul hosted a dignified Independence Parade, where Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir was the chief guest.
PMA cadets displayed exceptional drill performances, honoring the martyrs who gave their lives for the country’s freedom.
Karachi also saw a grand celebration at the Sindh Governor House under the theme “Fard Nahi Qoom Hain Hum” (We Are a Nation, Not Individuals).
The historic site was brightly lit, and a massive 1,000-pound cake was cut in honor of the day.
The UAE Consulate in Karachi participated in the celebrations as well, holding a ceremony where high-performance awards and certificates were given out.
The event was attended by notable figures such as Asifa Bhutto Zardari and Faryal Talpur.
In Peshawar, an Azadi Night Music Ceremony was held at the Governor House, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi present.
Even in smaller towns like Toba Tek Singh, the spirit of Independence Day was alive, with the district administration organizing a fireworks show at the local football ground, adding to the community’s festive mood.
