Nationalists parties from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have formed an opposition alliance for “establishment of constitutional supremacy” in Pakistan.
It would be a second opposition alliance which the leaders said have nothing to do with the elections. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is already leading a multi-party alliance of opposition parties.
The leaders of the JUI-F, Awami National Party (ANP), National Party, Hazara Democratic Party and Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party met in Quetta and announce that they are uniting for the supremacy of the constitution.
The main participants included JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, ANP head Aimal Wali Khan and NP leader Dr Malik, the former chief minister of Balochistan.
Maulana Fazl invited the like-minded to be part of the struggle, making it clear the alliance would have nothing to do with PTI and JUI-F dialogue. ANP’s Aimal Wali said the alliance have the main objective to liberate people from slavery- a hint to the military establishment rule over Pakistan.
