Natasha Iqbal, the woman involved in the fatal accident in Karachi’s Karsaz area on August 19, has been confirmed as a drug user through a recent medical examination.
The report, which detected illicit substances in her urine, has been kept confidential by the police and will be submitted to the court in due course.
On the day of the incident, Natasha, driving her high-speed SUV, tragically killed a man and his daughter after crashing into motorcyclists and pedestrians.
Natasha, who is married to Danish Iqbal—a prominent industrialist and CEO of Metro Power Company Ltd.—is currently in police custody.
She has been placed under physical remand by the Karachi City Court. While her defense initially argued that she was mentally unwell and had been admitted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) due to a head injury, hospital records indicate that she was deemed fit and did not require psychiatric treatment.
The incident has provoked significant backlash on social media, with accusations that Natasha’s influential family is attempting to evade accountability.
