Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is not in custody, Sunday.
Naqvi stated that if Gandapur is found within Islamabad’s jurisdiction, authorities will arrest him.
Naqvi said that Islamabad police are actively searching for Gandapur and conducting raids at suspected locations.
Minister added that security forces have also set up checkpoints to capture Gandapur.
Gandapur have spotted in CCTV images.
Images showed Gandapur allegedly leaving the KP House in a different outfit, accompanied by officials.
Reports indicated he wore a black shalwar kameez when entering the KP House.
Gandapur’s reported “disappearance” has led to conflicting accounts. Some sources deny his arrest, prompting PTI in Peshawar to announce a protest outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly at 3 PM today.
KP opposition leader Dr. Ibadullah criticized Gandapur for his “disappearance.”
He said that this was not the first time Gandapur had gone missing.
“No one knows where the KP CM is right now,” he stated.
Opposition leader questioned about Gandapur’s responsibilities as a chief executive.
He accused him of abandoning his party workers while enjoying leisure activities.
PTI protesters are still demonstrating in Islamabad. Security forces, including Islamabad police, Punjab police, FC, and Rangers, deployed throughout the city. Many routes between Rawalpindi and Islamabad closed for the third consecutive day.
