The Apex Committee meeting of the National Action Plan (NAP), which was supposed to take place on Monday, has been postponed.
Premier Shehbaz Sharif, who was scheduled to lead the important session, had to delay it due to other urgent commitments. The meeting will now be held tomorrow.
This meeting was arranged to review the progress of the National Action Plan against terrorism. This session is expected to include top civil and military leaders, federal ministers, and the chief ministers and chief secretaries of all four provinces.
The main focus of the meeting is to evaluate the country’s security situation, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where terrorist activities are rising.
The agenda also includes improving coordination between federal and provincial authorities and enhancing intelligence-sharing systems.
PM will discuss on strengthening internal security and addressing rising terrorism threats. Participants will also receive updates on recent intelligence-based operations and assess how effective current anti-terrorism measures have been.
It is worth noting that NAP was established after Army Public School incident in 2014. Since then it remained a main part of Pakistan’s fight against terrorism.
