The reports suggested that Hashim Safi al-Din is highly likely to be elected as Hezbollah’s lchief.
Hashim Safi al-Din is a cousin and son-in-law of the martyred Hassan Nasrallah.
According to the media reports, Naim Qassem has served as a member of Hezbollah’s Shura Council three times.

Who was Hassan Nasrallah?
Hassan Nasrallah assumed the role of Secretary General of Hezbollah at the age of 32, following the assassination of his predecessor, Abbas Al-Mousawi, by an Israeli airstrike in 1992. He pursued studies in politics and Quranic teachings in Najaf, Iraq, for three years, where he also met Sayyid Abbas Al-Mousawi, the leader of the Lebanese Amal militia. In 1978, Nasrallah was expelled from Iraq.
During the Lebanese civil war, Nasrallah became a political representative of the Amal militia in the Beqaa Valley. After Israel’s invasion of Beirut in 1982, Nasrallah parted ways with Amal and aligned himself with Hezbollah. Under his leadership, Hezbollah grew into a formidable opponent of Israel, with Nasrallah consistently viewing Israel as a significant threat.
Since Hamas launched its attack on Israel on October 7, Hezbollah has been engaged in daily clashes with Israeli forces along the Lebanon-Israel border.
