Appearing as a guest on Something Haute, hosted by Amana Isani, actress Naeema Butt opened up about her career experiences, including a surprising incident where she was turned down for a role due to her long hair.
“There was one time I was denied a role just because of my long hair. I’m not willing to change my look for a role,” she explained.
Butt, who has been vocal about staying true to her natural appearance, encouraged others to embrace their unique features. “Girls, please don’t feel pressured to change. You’re beautiful as you are…I’m embracing my own skin, and I hope that inspires you too,” she urged.
In discussing her creative process, the Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum star shared her enthusiasm for experimenting with hairstyles on set, often collaborating closely with makeup artists to achieve styles that fit each character. “I love playing around with different ideas…I’ll come in early to give my team time to work with my hair,” she said.
Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, penned by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Badar Mehmood, airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 PM on ARY Digital.
In a previous interview with ARY Digital, Butt was asked whose bag she’d like to look through, to which she replied with a smile, “I’d like to peek into Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s bag because I enjoy the little messes in life.”
When asked about the essentials in her own bag, Naeema shared, “Water is a must; I carry it everywhere. Then, of course, there’s money and my ID cards. I’d say these are my essentials…plus, extra tissues are always handy.”
