The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has dismissed its Director General, Zulfiqar Ahmed, after an investigation revealed his academic qualifications were falsified.
An official notification confirmed the termination following an inquiry into Ahmed’s educational credentials. NADRA had sought verification of his degrees from the Higher Education Commission (HEC), which uncovered that his MBA degree from Mason University in the USA was fraudulent.
Further discrepancies were identified in his BBA degree, as the institution listed on his documents did not match its historical records.
The Islamabad High Court supported HEC’s decision to revoke the equivalency of Ahmed’s MBA degree.
Despite being issued a show-cause notice by NADRA, Ahmed failed to provide a convincing explanation for the discrepancies.
Based on the findings and the court’s ruling, the NADRA chairman made the decision to terminate Zulfiqar Ahmed’s employment, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
