In a recent revelation, acclaimed actress Nadia Jamil has disclosed her experience of being harassed by a renowned Pakistani filmmaker.
Speaking candidly on Iffat Omar’s show “Say It All With Iffat Omar,” Jamil shared her decision to steer clear of potentially perilous projects due to past encounters. Jamil recounted, “I’m selective about my roles and collaborators. Having been harassed by a notable director, I avoid situations that might compromise my safety. For instance, I turned down a recent project by Naumaan Ijaz when I learned that ‘this person’ was involved, as the risk was not worth it.”
She further explained her reasons for withholding the director’s name, stating, “I haven’t named him yet because many women likely have faced similar harassment from him. I plan to disclose his identity when my sons are older and more capable of handling the situation maturely. For now, they’re just young and angry.”
Iffat Omar also contributed to the discussion, highlighting the legal challenges in addressing such issues.
She mentioned, “Even if incidents occur, talking about them openly often leads to legal repercussions.”
Nadia Jamil is well-known for her roles in TV dramas like “Jo Bichar Gaey,” “Durre Shehwar,” “Damsa, Meray Paas Paas,” and currently stars in “Khushbo Mein Basay Khat.”
