Lahore police apprehended TikTok personality Nadeem Mubarak, commonly known as Nadeem Naniwala, for using a counterfeit number plate on his vehicle.
The arrest took place during a routine traffic stop near Main Boulevard in the Defence area, where authorities discovered the fake registration plate, numbered “IK 804.”
Officers on the scene immediately took Nadeem Naniwala into custody, and the vehicle was impounded.
The Defence police filed charges against the social media influencer for the unlawful use of a falsified number plate, and a formal complaint was lodged following the incident.
In a related development, SP Headquarters Ahmad Zunair Cheema issued a directive prohibiting police officers from creating or participating in TikTok content while in uniform.
This new policy, aimed at preserving the department’s professionalism, warns that any officer caught using the platform while on duty will face disciplinary action.
Additionally, officers have been instructed to remove any existing social media profiles linked to TikTok.
The decision comes as part of efforts to safeguard the reputation of the force amid growing concerns about the negative impact of officers’ social media activities.
SP Cheema emphasized the need for law enforcement personnel to demonstrate professionalism in both their conduct and online presence, stating that maintaining the force’s integrity is paramount.
