Renowned filmmaker Nadeem Baig recently shared his casting choices for political biopics on famous politicians.
In an interview with Iffat Omar, Baig shared that if he had a chance to direct films on influential politicians, he would cast Mehwish Hayat for the character of Benazir Bhutto.
Filmmaker said that for the role of Maryam Nawaz he will pick Hania Aamir.
Baig further said that Hamza Ali Abbasi will be his top pick for Imran Khan biopic, and for Zulfikar Ali Bhutto he would have selected late Mohammad Ali.
Recently in a podcast with Ahmad Ali Butt, Baig talked about the casting process for Pyare Afzal.
“Hamza Ali Abbasi was not my first choice for Pyare Afzal, but later Hamza proved himself a better fit for the role” Baig said.
When asked about Baig’s journey in film industry he shared that he was crazy about films from the school days.
“I used to skip my classes during my school days to watch movies in cinema”, Baig told.
He said that this early passion for cinema eventually led him to a successful career in film and television.
“Finally, I got a chance to become a director during my college years”, Baig revealed.
During his interview Baig also highlighted the essential role of music in films, especially in romantic and emotional stories.
He commended Pakistani filmmakers for their ability to create hit songs.
In response of a question about Humayun Saeed Baig said, “Humayun Saeed surpassed Bollywood’s Khans in acting ability”.
Baig also shared his plan about making a movie with Humayun. He confidently said that the movie would compete with Bollywood blockbusters.
