The National Assembly of Pakistan has passed a resolution condemning the Israeli state oppression and brutality in Palestine.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar introduced the resolution, stating all parties agreed on draft.
Dar read the resolution aloud to the NA members, noting that Haniyeh’s death in Tehran had added to the angst and sorrow. Such events, he said, are deliberate plots to sabotage efforts to stop fighting in Gaza and disturb regional peace.
“Atrocities by Israel on Palestinians have grown worse, causing loss of over 40,000 innocent lives, including women and children.”
“Israeli oppression against the people of Palestine are source of grief and anger for all parliamentary parties of the National Assembly.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also announced funeral prayers in absentia for Ismail Haniyeh after Friday prayers. He termed Haniyeh martyrdom in Tehran an act of brutality.
Prime Minister Shehbaz restated Pakistan’s and other nations’ strong condemnation of Haniyeh’s killing.
He urged international organizations tasked with maintaining peace in Gaza to “awaken their conscience” to the atrocities there.
