RAWALPINDI – Raja Basharat, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-supported candidate, who lost in National Assembly constituency NA-55 as per the preliminary unofficial results, refused to accept his defeat, saying that they would not let the mandate be stolen.
He said he had all the evidence of what he said massive rigging in NA-55.
Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, Raja Basharat said in a video message that, “I had won the election with a lead of 50,000 votes. InshaAllah, we will not let our rights be snatched away,”.
He said that his opponent had not succeeded in any polling station throughout the entire NA-55 constituency.
Rejecting Form 45, the Returning Officer is issuing Form 47 and declaring the opponent as the winner.

“I have all the evidence of my victory,” he said. In his released statement, he said that such fraud had never been seen in the past.
The example of the kind of rigging done on peoples’ mandate is not found in the past.
According to unofficial and provisional results, in National Assembly constituency NA-55 Rawalpindi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Abrar Ahmed secured victory with 78,542 votes, while independent candidate Raja Basharat, with 67,101 votes, lost this election.
Raja Basharat urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice it immediately.
“We will not allow our mandate to be stolen in this manner; if one RO declares a successful candidate unsuccessful, it will be further injustice. We have been running around with Form 45 for 5 hours, but the RO is not ready to accept them,” he added.
