Famous Indian actor Mushtaq Khan was kidnapped and tortured by unidentified individuals who demanded a ransom of ₹1 crore.
Mushtaq Khan, who is known for his strong performance in many big projects including the recent Stree 2, became a victim of a ransom plot. This incident happened just weeks after the kidnapping incident of Sunil Pal, a renowned comedian.
As per Indian media reports, Mushtaq was invited to an award ceremony in Meerut on November 20. He was also given an advance payment and flight tickets. However, Soon after Khan reached Delhi, he was forced into a car and taken to a remote location near Bijnor, reports say.
According to reports, the kidnappers captured him for nearly 12 hours, during which his abductors demanded a ransom of ₹1 Crore.
“Kidnappers tortured Mushtaq Khan for hours band demanded ransom. Abductors withdrew over $2,400 from the accounts of Khan and his son”, Shivam Yadav, Khan’s business associate, told Indian press.
As per Khan’s statement, after about 12 hours, early in the morning, he heard the azaan, signaling the presence of some locals nearby.
Taking advantage of the moment, he managed to escape and took refuge in nearby village. The locals helped him to contact the police. Later he was safely reunited with his family with the police assistance.
Mushtaq Khan’s family has filed an FIR against the abductors. They also provided evidence, including flight tickets, bank transaction records, and CCTV footage from the airport. Khan also identified the neighborhood and the house where he was held.
Police have started the investigation to unveil the unidentified persons behind this criminal act.
Overall these two back-to-back kidnapping incidents have sparked a tension among Indian actors. They are demanding an immediate action against these crimes and make sure the safety of public figures.
