A webpage named “MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN Hajj 2024 Sponsorship Scheme” has achieved a high ranking on Google. However, it’s a “SCAM,” it’s a deceptive scheme designed to target innocent individuals who intend to embark on the Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia in 2024.
The fraudulent website falsely claims that sponsorship for Hajj is offered through the Kingdom’s foundation and is open to all prospective pilgrims.
Furthermore, scammers are pressuring people to share the link within WhatsApp groups. It has been reported that these scammers are based in Nigeria.
However, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a cautionary notice regarding potential scams related to Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, urging individuals to remain vigilant against online registration fraud.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized the necessity for pilgrims to rely solely on official ministry channels, as scammers have been exploiting unsuspecting individuals by soliciting personal information and funds through deceptive websites.
Hisham Saeed, a spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry, clarified to an international publication that the ministry does not provide financial assistance for Hajj.
Furthermore, warnings have been issued regarding recent online links that have been circulating, prompting individuals to exercise caution.
