The captain of Pakistan’s white-ball cricket team, Mohammad Rizwan, has praised Fakhar Zaman’s potential influence on the sport while emphasizing that his own leadership won’t drastically change the squad’s existing form.
Rizwan acknowledged the impact of previous head coach Aaqib Javed’s tactics and his conviction in making spin-friendly surfaces for home games at a media appearance prior to leaving for Pakistan’s tour of Australia.
“Aaqib Javed’s choices have worked out well for the group. As previously stated, we may succeed by crafting spin-friendly pitches for our home series, Rizwan stated.
In response to the difficulties presented by Australian conditions, Rizwan continued by stating that Javed’s tactics are not applicable there.
“Aaqib Javed has no authority over the pitches in Australia. There, the conditions are harsh and different. We’ve put in a lot of effort, and I’m hoping for positive outcomes,” he said.
Regarding Zaman, Rizwan commended his capacity to alter the course of games, saying, “Fakhar Zaman is a player who may influence the game significantly.” However, we have no control over the team’s decisions. He is capable of winning a match by himself.
Regarding the coaching dilemma, Rizwan stated that management and the board had the last say in all choices.
He went on to say that although he has always been open to voicing his thoughts, he saw being captain as a responsibility more than an objective.
