Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s United states (US) visit is planned on Wednesday this week.
In Washington, Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with United States (US) President Donald Trump. He will also interact with business leaders and members of Indian community.
Bilateral partnership in key areas like technology, trade, defense, and energy will be the agenda of the meeting.
Modi said that he is looking forward to meet his friend Donald Trump and this trip will be an opportunity to build upon the successes of bilateral collaboration during President Trump’s first tenure.
Currently Indian Prime Minister is on a three-day visit to France where he will co-chair the AI action Summit with his French Counterpart.
After that he will head to United States to meet Donald Trump. This will be Modi’s first visit since Trump’s return to White House in January.
President Trump on Sunday announced fresh Tariffs on the imports of aluminium and steel. This visit will be of great significance as Modi is expected to talk on Tariffs cuts.
Another issue which will be discussed is the deportation of illegal Indian immigrants.
The issue led to massive uproar in the Indian parliament where the opposition flagged the “inhuman manner” in which the Indian nationals were deported.
Modi is also expected to meet a selective group of American CEOs and business tycoons. Reports said that he will meet the Tesla and SpaceX Chief Elon musk.
It is anticipated that Elon Musk will ask to bring Tesla’s cars to India and seek expedited approvals for Starlinks.
While India aimed to attract investment from US companies, the Indian officials and industrial groups are expecting that Modi’s US visit will strengthen the economic ties as well the strategic ties.
