Exit polls have given Modi clear edge over INDIA- the Congress led opposition alliance- in India’s longest seven-phase election which concluded on Saturday.
The polls predict Modi’s BJP will achieve over 350 seats in Lok Sabha– a 543 members legislature body. The party which wins 272 seats will rule India.
Some Indian TV even predicted that the BJP led ruling alliance (National Democratic Alliance-NDA) would win over 400 plus seats, a claim which, according to some analysts, is much exaggerated.
Modi would get the third term as prime minister of world’s largest democracy if his party succeeds in the election. Official results of the election would start coming on June 4 while the lower house of the parliament (Lok Sabha) would be in place on June 16, the last of the current assembly.
On the other side Congress led opposition alliance claim it would form government is winning on 295 seats. Congress president announced the development on Saturday after meeting with his partners.
