Meta’s social media platforms, Instagram, Threads, and Facebook, are currently down and unavailable for social media users, with both platforms pulling up “failure to load” error pages upon opening.
Meta services are down globally!
The Meta owned platforms were reportedly down Tuesday, DownDetector reports. DownDetector reported over 352,000 outages which affected millions of people around the globe.
On mobile devices, Facebook users read a pop-up stating “session expired, please log in again.” Tapping on the message would take them to a log-in screen, where users reported seeing a message reading “Unable to log in. An unexpected error occurred. Please try logging in again.”
On the browser, Facebook users are met with the notification reading “password you’ve entered is incorrect.”
Those trying to access Facebook Messenger face the same situation.
On Instagram, users have been able to access previous content but the notification that the “feed could not be refreshed” pops up on their timeline .
The message Instagram users were met with the same format while trying to access their timelines via a web browser amid an apparent outage.
It’s currently unclear what is causing the outage.

“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
