The Sindh High Court suspended the publication of medical colleges’ admission merit list following allegations of irregularities in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).
During the case hearing, the court directed institutions to refrain from moving forward with admissions until a full investigation of the issue occurs
The Sindh health secretary and chief secretary proposed forming a committee to probe the allegations, which the court approved.
This committee will complete its investigation within 15 days and can assess both criminal and civil liabilities linked to the alleged misconduct.
The committee can request assistance from relevant institutions and obtain records from universities involved in the MDCAT, as well as from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
The court also highlighted that the committee can address any objections raised by the petitioners.
