US secretary of state Marco Rubio met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Monday, said the state department spokesman Tammy Bruce.
Both Rubio and MBS discussed the plans for Gaza in the meeting.
Rubio is holding key meetings in middle East after the Trump’s statement of relocation of Palestinians to Arab countries and taking up of the Gaza strip.
Trump proposed that US will reconstruct the enclave
While resettling the residents of war-torn Gaza to Arab nations like Qatar and Egypt.
This proposal infuriated Arab countries while other world also condemned the plans.
“The Secretary underscored the importance of an arrangement for Gaza that contributes to regional security,” Tammy Bruce, State Department spokesperson, revealed in a statement on the meeting between Rubio and the crown prince
Both reiterated the importance of Ceasefire and affirmed their resolve to it. A ceasefire was agreed between Israel and Hamas last month.
The two also discussed Syria, Lebanon and Red Sea, Bruce added.
Saudi state news agency also confirmed that both discussed latest regional and global developments.
They also discussed efforts to achieve regional and global stability.
Earlier, Rubio visited Israel which was his first visit to the middle as top US Diplomat. then travelled to Saudi Arabia from Israel
A meeting between Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister is also due that il focus on ending Ukraine War and restoring the ties.
Although Trump said this before that negotiations will take place in Saudi Arabia. However, after the meeting of US state secretary and Saudi Crown Prince neither side mentioned talks on Ukraine.
