Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML), a collaboration between Master Group of Industries and Changan International, has introduced DEEPAL, Changan’s electric-first brand, in Pakistan.
The unveiling took place at Dolmen Mall Clifton, Karachi, where visitors can test drive the latest DEEPAL models until August 25th.
DEEPAL debuted with two cutting-edge models: the L07, a pure electric sports luxury sedan, and the S07, a premium electric SUV.
DEEPAL Specs
Both vehicles boast 250 HP and 320 Nm of torque, allowing them to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 5.9 seconds. Equipped with CATL’s Ternary Lithium battery, the L07 offers an impressive range of up to 540 km, while the S07 provides up to 485 km on a single charge.
These models, designed at Changan’s R&D center in Italy, have already garnered attention for their innovative design, winning the 2023 German RedDot award.
MCML has strategically priced DEEPAL to compete with traditional gasoline and hybrid vehicles. In addition, every purchase comes with a complimentary 7kW fast home charger, capable of fully charging the vehicle in 5-8 hours.
The DEEPAL brand signifies a strong collaboration between Changan, Huawei, and CATL. Changan, one of China’s largest automakers, developed the EV-first EPA-01 platform, while Huawei provided its advanced Harmony OS intelligent software. CATL, a global leader in battery manufacturing, supplied the Ternary Lithium battery, ensuring a highly accurate range performance.

Environmental Benefits of EV adoption:
As Pakistan continues to rely on non-fossil fuel energy sources for 41% of its energy mix, the shift to electric vehicles like DEEPAL is both economically and environmentally beneficial. With Pakistan’s oil import bill reaching $15.16 billion, widespread EV adoption could alleviate the strain on foreign reserves and improve the nation’s financial outlook.
Despite the presence of over 2,000 electric vehicles in Pakistan, mass adoption has been slow. MCML’s CEO, Danial Malik, outlined four key challenges to overcome: introducing affordable EVs, ensuring long-range battery efficiency, providing robust after-sales support, and expanding the national charging infrastructure.
Master Changan is addressing these challenges head-on with DEEPAL. The brand offers competitive pricing, best-in-class driving range, and a comprehensive 8-year or 240,000 km warranty. Additionally, 23 Changan dealerships across 17 cities are equipped to provide after-sales support for DEEPAL vehicles. To further encourage EV adoption, MCML plans to expand Pakistan’s charging network from 5 cities to 17, establishing 23 new charging stations.
Looking ahead, MCML is committed to introducing 3 to 4 new locally assembled EV models within the next two years. With DEEPAL leading the charge, Master Changan Motors aims to revolutionize Pakistan’s automotive industry, driving the country towards a more sustainable future.
