At least 11 people were killed in Texas by tornadoes and rainstorms, and a rural mobile home park was severely damaged, resulting in the deaths of seven more people in the two neighboring states.
Furthermore, as of Saturday night, at least four persons were confirmed deceased in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Thousands of people in the area lost electricity as a result of the extreme weather that devastated the area.
Cooke and Denton counties in Texas, which stretches from Dallas to southern Oklahoma, are where the deaths took place. At the Valley View mobile home and RV park called Ray Roberts Marina, five people perished, including two children.
After the “unbelievable” tornadoes, the storm left a mile and a half of debris in its path. Four more deaths were recorded in Oklahoma and Arkansas, with two storm-related deaths in each state.
At a press conference on Sunday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated that the precise number of casualties from the Saturday tornado was “hard to tell with certainty,” although he did say that roughly 100 people were hurt. According to Abbott, around 200 houses and other structures were completely destroyed, while over 100 more suffered damage. The governor went on, “I’d be shocked if those numbers do not increase.”
