LAHORE: Police arrested the husband and the stepson of a woman for allegedly burning her to death, the City police said on Wednesday.
Police registered an FIR against Raja Nazir and stepson who is a CTD inspector on the complaint of the deceased woman’s brother.
According to the FIR, Tabassum contracted a second marriage with accused Raja Nazir. The accused used to torture her. On the day of the incident, he with the help of woman’s stepson, who worked as a CTD inspector, set her on fire and burned her to death.
Police said they arrested the duo on suspicion as the statements of the father and son negated the facts.
They told the police that Tabassum was burnt when she went into the kitchen to make tea after the gas stove was exploded.
