Former skipper Shoaib Malik has dismissed reports regarding the termination of his contract with the BPL.
Media on Friday highlighted Malik, who recently divorced tennis star Sani Mirza and married actress Sana Javed, yet another time within a week.
Different TV outlets linked him to the “No-Ball” spot-fixing scandal, playing videos without mentioning sources.
Shoaib Malik was playing in the Bangladesh Premier League but went to Dubai in the middle of the league, raising eyebrows.
Media reported Malik’s contract with BPL was terminated due to the “scandal.”
However, Shoaib appeared on X and clarified his position about the news reports.
“I would like to address and dismiss the recent rumours circulating about my playing position with Fortune Barishal.”
He said he thoroughly discussed it with his captain, Tamim Iqbal, and we mutually planned the way forward.
“I had to leave Bangladesh for a pre-committed media engagement in Dubai,” he said, extending his best wishes to the Fortune Barishal, the team he was part of.
He added he was available to support the team whenever needed.
