Malakand University Harassment to be investigated by special committee spproved by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
Approval has been given by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly for a special committee to probes the case of Malakand University harassment.
Although the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly objected, this approval was given; the committee member selection will occur later.
The special committee for the Malakand University harassment case was approved by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly contrary to the Speaker’s reservations, according to information.
The committee membership will be chosen at a later stage.
Provincial Minister for Housing Dr. commenting in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session, The Malakand University harassment episode, Amjad Ali noted, was disgraceful.
He demanded for the establishment of a unique committee including government as well as opposition members to look into the issue.

He added also that should such occurrences not be stopped, parents will be reluctant to send their daughters to schools.
Moreover, he added, “Had this happened to me, I would have killed the professor on the spot.”
Meanwhile, Humayun Khan, who is Adviser on Prisons for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister, reported.
The Chief Minister was promptly alerted after the student harassment event in Malakand.
Whereas, an investigation is currently under way under the direction of senior police officer Sonia Zamroze Khan.
His opinion on coeducation should also be abolished was voiced. Speaker Babar Saleem Swati replied reacts that rather than setting up a House Committee, the law should be changed.
