ISLAMABAD – Mahmood Khan, former minister and close aide of Imran Khan, has been expelled from party amid widening cracks between the former ruling party.
After Pervez Khattak, Mahmood Khan becomes the latest member of former party who jumped ships following May 9 events.
Several lawmakers of KPK including Ishtia Urmar, Iqbal Wazeer, Yaqoob Sheikh and Shafiq Afridi also jumped ships along with Mahmood Khan.
PTI kicked Mahmood Khan as Khattak formed PTI-Parliamentarians, after parting ways with Imran Khan, who is facing hundreds of case.
Earlier, the defective members of former defence minister condemned May 9 attacks and violent protests. Several lawmakers of Imran Khan-led party remains embattled, with its chairman facing several cases and a threat of disqualification while key party leaders have parted ways following violent protests against civil, and military installations.
Meanwhile, leaders of former ruling party are expecting to give tough time to Imran Khan in next general elections.
