In Pakistan, funerals are typically characterized by their somber atmosphere and respectful attire.
However, television personality Madiha Naqvi recently shared her personal experience regarding the attire of some attendees at her mother’s funeral, revealing her distress over the situation.
During a recent episode of her morning show, Naqvi recounted the painful day of her mother’s passing.
She noted that, upon returning home, she was shocked to see guests dressed in vibrant clothing and wearing makeup, including bold lipstick.
She reflected, “The first time I confronted the reality of death was when I saw my mother’s body. It was a moment that remains etched in my memory.”
Naqvi expressed her dismay at the lack of traditional mourning etiquette, saying, “Even hours after my mother left this world, several visitors arrived, and some were wearing makeup.
It’s something that will stay with me forever. Regardless of where they may have come from, there are certain respect norms that should be observed for the deceased.”
She emphasized the lesson that death imparts, stating, “When a person passes away, it serves as a divine reminder that our worldly ties have ended, urging us to return to our Creator.”
