Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) on September 30, as per a statement released by the ISPR on Monday.
Gen Malik, currently holding the position of Adjutant General at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, will succeed Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum, who has led the agency since his appointment by then-Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2021.
Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum, commissioned in September 1988, has held prominent roles such as Commander of Corps V in Karachi, Brigade Commander in Kurram Agency, and Commandant of Command and Staff College Quetta, before taking over as Karachi’s corps commander in late 2020.
