London Mayor Sadiq khan cheered up for final of the tournament between host nation and England. As cricket fans across the globe are ready for the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
Sadiq khan showed his wish to watch Pakistan and England playing against each other in the final of champions Trophy.
The much-hyped tournament is set to start on February 19 with Pakistan facing New Zealand in the opener in Karachi. A small opening ceremony will also take place featuring Pakistan’s celebrities.
The event will be first international cricket event in Pakistan in last 30 years. Last time Pakistan hosted an ICC ODI cup in 1996 when Benazir Bhutto shaheed was the president.
Sadiq who is the mayor of London has Pakistani origin. He was re-elected for the third consecutive time as mayor London last year.
Sadiq khan said that he only follows one rule and that way I never lose.
” I have a rule: I always support the winner and don’t lose that way. I hope it’s a great Champions Trophy,” he talked to the reporter.
While every match will be interesting the most anticipated match as always will be between Pakistan and India. Stakes will be high as arch-rival will face each other on 23rd February in Dubai.
His deep views on cricket showed that he follows cricket regularly and is a dedicated fan.
He also wished for Pakistan’s star batter, Babar to be back in form.
“Pakistan’s team has not been great recently. I hope Babar Azam comes back to form “, he added.
” Hope it’s a great tournament and a safe tournament. I am looking forward to seeing the crowds come back to the stadium.”
The labor party leader also said that England and Pakistan selectors could call him if they wanted to. “Look if you’re the selector of either Pakistan or England then I’m available. I am free, I can take time off and will play,” he said showing his love the cricket.
Pakistan is ready for hosting this majestic tournament. It recently renovated its two Stadiums at Lahore and Karachi in a very short time for the event
