Lahore High Court (LHC) has set October 10 as the date for hearing petitions challenging the legality of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) 2014 sit-in.
A three-member full bench, led by Chief Justice Alia Neelam, will oversee the proceedings. Lawyer AK Dogar initially filed the petitions, questioning the legitimacy of the PTI’s extensive sit-in in Islamabad that year.
Unfortunately, Dogar, who initiated this legal action, passed away after filing the case.
The LHC’s Registrar’s Office has released the cause list for the forthcoming hearing, which has been pending for several years.
The PTI held a 126-day sit-in in response to alleged electoral fraud during the 2013 general elections.
