The Lahore High Court(LHC) delivered the petition filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan to the deputy commissioner (DC) of Lahore on Thursday.
PTI member Akmal Khan Bari filed the petition. He argued that the party’s request to hold a peaceful rally at Minar-e-Pakistan is still pending with the Lahore DC.
Akmal Khan said that the PTI members are going to held this rally on October 5 to celebrate the birthday of PTI Founder Imran Khan. He said that PTI members are intended to held this rally in a peaceful manner.
LHC Justice Farooq heard the petition. He directed the public prosecutor to make sure that the DC would decide about the rally before October 5. The court also asked the authorities to submit a status report of the issue to the deputy registrar (judicial) of the LHC.
