On Wednesday, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) took action against unauthorized commercial establishments by sealing 65 properties that were either illegal or in default of commercialization fees across various areas of Lahore.
The Town Planning Wing of the LDA identified and sealed 15 businesses in Gulberg, 35 in Wapda Town, and 15 in Harbanspura and along Canal Bank Road. Among the affected establishments were Concordia College, The Educators, Green Pharmacy, Pizza.pk, Nawab Palace, Madina Marquee, as well as various gyms, clinics, bakeries, grocery stores, and other commercial entities.
The operations were overseen by LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali, with enforcement teams collaborating with police to execute the closures. LDA officials reported that multiple notices had been issued to the owners of these properties prior to the enforcement actions.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq emphasized the need for ongoing efforts to combat violations of building regulations, encroachments, and illegal commercial activities in Lahore.
