Lakhani check post militant attack is recently prevented by Punjab police, IGP said that the force prevented 19 such attacks.
IG Punjab police said, that the force successfully neutralized the recent attempt on the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border.
This area has been of prime target for the terrorists prior as well.
As per the official sources of Punjab police, 15-20 heavily armed terrorists tried to execute coordinated attack on the check post.
They used heavily armed weaponry including heavy rocket launchers.
The forces engaged the attackers, and caused them to retreat.
The attackers executed the attack from multiple directions to keep the forces occupied.
The Lakhani check post militant attack occured at the time of Dawn.
The attackers used highly advanced technology. They used thermal imaging cameras before advancing towards the target.
The official sources confirmed that the militants faced heavy loss with multiple casualties.
Whereas, the exact number of casualties is not yet confirmed.
However, no casualty has been reported from the forces’ side as of yet.
Six days earlier, the same sort of attack was repelled and neutralized by the forces before as well.
Dr. Usman Anwar, Inspector General Punjab police, commended the force saying;
“The vigilance of our officers has made it evident that such elements face a defeat in their heinous plots”
Security has been made strict and the forces are more vigilant to avoid any such attack in the future.
