The residents of Lahore are going to have free wifi services again, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari announced this while briefing media today over the initiatives of the provincial government.
She said the government will also resume the “Lahore Safe City Program’ for the protection of citizens.
The minister disclosed that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also initiated a couple of public welfare projects. These projects will star shedding their fruits not far away but just in the month of June this year. Adding more she said that earlier Punjab government started free Internet service in Lahore when Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif last was the Chief Minister of this province, but all his steps were rolled over during PTI’s government.
It is important to note that previously the Punjab government started this service over 200 places in cities including the provincial capital, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur and this service was also made available at different 16 places in Murree which among the most visited tourist place in the country. Earlier it was due to this facility when the life of a patient was saved in a major hospital of Lahore. Than taking advantage of this facility husband of a women patient launched an appeal for blood for his wife.
Lahore to have security cameras again
The minister said the provincial government has also launched a couple of other public welfare projects including making Lahore a safe city by installing security cameras. She said the former PML-N government in Punjab has started the safety project but the previous government of the PTI rolled it back putting the safety and security of residents at risk.
Free door step medicine delivery to cancer, cardiac and hepatitis patients
Highlighting other projects of the provincial government Azma said that overseas Pakistanis are now going to have online property registration services. Similarly, installation of recycling plants under waste management plan, plantation of more eighteen hundred thousand plants under green Punjab policy are some highlights of the Punjab CM’s work and vision for healthy Punjab. She said that so far under the waste management campaign, more than 18000 tons of waste have been collected and transported to dumping stations.
Additionally repair of more than 582 roads that join cities with each other, provision of free medicine at the door steps of cardiac, hepatitis and cancer patients are also some initiatives of this government. She also said that availability of free medicine in hospital emergencies is also on the top priority of Punjab CM Maeryam Nawaz.
Free solar systems for more 50,000 electricity consumers
More over more than 50 thousand consumers of electricity will be provided free solar penal systems in Punjab, the minister said. She added all these projects of the government will start shedding fruits till June this year.
