Parts of Punjab including provincial capital Lahore witnessed windstorm and a light rain on Wednesday evening, lowering the temperate and breaking the sizzling heatwave persisted for over a week.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Met Office, meanwhile, forecast rains parts of Punjab till June 6, issuing a warning for landslide particularly in northern and upper parts of the province.
It said Murree and Galyat might face to be landslides with chances of lightening and thunderstorm in coming days. The authority stated that the district authorities and emergency services should remain vigilant to face any kind of situation in view of the weather trend. It warned the citizens avoid staying under open skies and unnecessary travelling.
Heavy rains, Met office said, are expected in Upper Punjab, posing a risk to life and property.
Furthermore, lightening killed two brothers in Khushab as the government issued condolence to the family of the victims.
