A court in Lahore has ordered the release of social media influencer Nadeem Mubarak, widely known as Nadeem Naniwala, following his recent arrest related to the use of an unauthorized number plate on his car.
The arrest took place earlier this week after police discovered the fake plate, marked “IK 804,” on his vehicle.
On Thursday, the court decided to free Naniwala, pointing to a lack of sufficient evidence to substantiate the charges against him.
A missing recovery statement was a significant issue that weakened the prosecution’s case.
As a result, the court rejected the police’s request to extend Naniwala’s detention for 14 days and ordered his immediate release.
The TikToker had been taken into custody by Defence C police during a routine patrol, where his vehicle was flagged for carrying the fraudulent plate.
